Molybdenum bar is manufactured as random length pieces or cut to customers' desired lengths. In addition, there are three different surface processes or finishes which are provided, depending on the desired end use of the molybdenum rod.
FOTMA produces pure and lanthanated doped molybdenum bar. The lanthanated doped molybdenum bars are targeted for use in higher temperature applications where ductility is retained after recrystallization for material with smaller cross sections
Molybdenum bar Surface FinishBlack - Surface is "as swaged" or "as drawn"; Retaining a coating of processing lubricants and oxides.
Cleaned - Surface is chemically cleaned to remove all lubricants and oxides.
Ground - Surface is centerless ground to remove all coating and to achieve precise diameter control.
Ground molybdenum bar is delivered with gray metallic luster. Mainly used for electrode of electric boosted glass melting furnace, bracket, the heating body etc. It can serve a long life in glass solution at 1300 celsius degrees. Also used in the fields of rare earth industry. Ground molybdenum rod surface has no oxidized phenomenon notably.
We produce ground molybdenum rod with customized lengths. Surface condition is supplied as per customers' requests.
Appearance of Forged Molybdenum bars:
Rolling rods: Dark brown, the surface is smooth and straight, no defects (crackle, heavy skin, hole, trough, etc) ; crooked degree is below 2mm.
Description of Ground Molybdenum Bars: Mo Purity: Mo>=99.95%
Density: > 10.1g/cm3
Thickness: 10mm - 100mm
Melting Point: 2600°C.
Ground Moly Bars Applications: 1. Suitable for producing ion implantation parts.
2. For producing electric light source parts and electric vacuum components.
3. For producing heating elements and refractory parts in high temperature furnaces
4. Used in glass and glass fiber industry, it can serve a long life in melted glass liquid at 1300°C.
5. Used as electrodes in the field of rare earth metal industry.
